Walter E. Williams Tells It Like It Is

Thanks to Audrey Silk for posting this on Facebook via NYC Clash-

The issue is not whether smoking harms others. The issue is the rights associated with property ownership.
Exactly. It shouldn't matter whether one is conservative or liberal; this is a concept that should ring true across the board and across every isle in every nation state that purports to base its principles on freedom and liberty.

Dupes for the State - Walter E. Williams - Townhall Conservative Columnists

  1. So true, J.

I have seen so many comments on smoking bans which blame political parties. There is no such blame since political parties are 'things', and not people. Smoking bans are not originated by political parties but by individual people. It is individual people who deny property owners their rights.

The problem is that smoking bans are such a new thing that no one as yet knows how to handle them. For some strange reason, everyone is confused. The Holy Zealots of Tobacco Control are taking advantage of the confusion and 'making hay' while the going is good.

Eventually, the worm will turn, but it may take some time. What we need to do is find out who are the real people who are driving things, because those are the people who must be brought to account in due course.
