FDA Kills Smokers - John Stossel - Townhall Conservative

Thanks to Audrey Silk for posting this on Facebook-

Here John Stossel tells it like it is:

Striving to abolish risk kills people.

...as does Brad Rodu, a professor of medicine at the University of Louisville:

It's time to be honest with the 50 million Americans, and hundreds of millions around the world, who use tobacco," Rodu writes. "It's time to abandon the myth that tobacco is devoid of benefits and to focus on how we can help smokers continue to derive those benefits with a safer delivery system.

If we can provide clean needles for heroin addicts, surely we smokers deserve access to pertinent information with regards to the relative risks of varying tobacco products and its alternatives. This is a fundamental human right.

..and here John Stossel makes a bold statement that is devoid of any political correctness or that of any tip-toeing around the issue at hand, which just so happens to be the lives of millions of American smokers:

The FDA claims that all its regulations save lives. But its e-cigarette policy would kill smokers.

What I want to know is, gives them the right? ...Anyone have an inclination?
