Cain’s unorthodox web ad | The Ticket - Yahoo! News

Oh, tsk..tsk...Smoking (..and err, smokers) is soooooo "unorthodox" you know. There are only 50-some million of us in America alone. It's not like it's a common or legal activity or anything....

My posting this here is not an endorsement of any candidate or political party, but check out the smirk on presidential candidate Cain's face at the end of this video. It's priceless.

  1. Wow, that is totally unusual for a presidential candidate video! I was totally not believing that he'd smirk like that, till I saw it for myself.

And so is the smoking at the end, by the guy endorsing Cain in the first part of the vid....

  2. What really bothers me about this is that Herman Cain is being criticized for reaching out subliminally to the 30 million feasible smokervoters who might turnout and elect someone willing to listen to their legitimate grievances. I get the feeling that Mark Bloc is tuned into us.

I swear, so deep runs the hostility of The Neo-Bishops of Do-gooderism (as you so aptly describe them) towards us that if they could figure out a way to disenfranchise us, they would do it. It would be fashioned along the lines of the old Poll Tax that worked so well in the past in keeping 'undesirables' away from the voting booths.

  5. ..There are more than 50 million of us on the US alone, and that's not including cigar smokers, pot smokers and vapers.

They are trying to do that already. You have people like Bernard Parks who, if he had his way, would have smokers ARRESTED for smoking on SIDEWALKS.

This ad isn't about the promotion of smoking, as I see it. It is about acknowledging our existence and our equal (and legal) right to assembly (with other smokers and friendly non-smokers); it is also about our right to be left alone. Period. If some folks don't like smoking or being around smokers, the solution is simple: DO NOT patronize the same places that we do. There will always be smokers, therefore the prohibitionists just need to learn to DEAL WITH IT. They don't have to be around us and we don't have to be around them.

We can vote, always remember that.
